We moved to Marin in 1959 and then to Carmichael in 1969 - husband's job transfer.
I worked for the Emporium in Marin for a few years in the credit department during the conversion to EDP (computer billing systems). They must have hired programmers on the cheap because there were unending customer billing problems and we all had to learn unlimited patience in dealing with those really mad customers. Trying to straighten out those billing errors was a real challenge - we should have been earning hazard pay during that time.
