Puddles was always a "must see" on every trip to the zoo. I always felt that more of a swimming area would have been nice. My father always told us that giraffes used to be solid brown in color until someone hit them on the head with a hammer and they "cracked." He also always told us that "cheetahs never prosper." The zoo brings back many fond memories, usually visits took place in the fog. Our daughter worked on the Nature Trail in the early 90's and exercised hawks and eagle at the Avian Center also. I am looking forward to future grandchildren so that we might carry on this family tradition...
