When Noah Griffin had his column in the Independent in the late 1990s, he wrote about Clara Pope stopping kids in the Lafayette corridors asking about their attendance at catechism at St. Thomas. My sixth grade teacher was Bonnie Lynch. My classmate Dennis Cordellos (younger brother of famous blind runner Harry Cordellos who was honored by the blood bank last year for donating 160 pints) called Mrs. Lynch an old windbag and was not allowed television for six months.
