Graham crackers and milk in Kindergarden is one of my earliest memories. Our graham crackers came in a large cardboard drum--possibly military rations after the end of WW2. As for the milk, it cost a few pennies, and was not in our family's budget. However if someone was absent, I got their milk for free.
