Thanks for mentioning KYA's (Emperor) Gene Nelson!
I was a HUGE fan of his. Once (in 1983) sent him a fan mail, and received a lovely signed postcard with a nice personalized handwritten note, and a picture of himself on the front.
I still have it!!
