One Sherwood anecdote I particularly remember is one morning when pioneer rush hour freeway-flier Hap Harper was busy relaying traffic information to the station when, Sherwood requested Hap's airspeed, altitude, & course so that station engineer Charles Homer Smith could interject the sound effects of a million German 88's firing at once, followed by calamitous descent & crash sounds, to which Harper replied, "very funny."
