Long ago about 1928 or 1929 San Francisco held Music Week at the Auditorium, Public Schools had one week, Parocial had the other. The auditorium was filled with school children 7th and th graders who had practiced for weeks. The songs were Patriotic Songs, Irish Songs and just old songs. Loves old Sweet Song and Swanee River were those I remembered. This sort of activity may sound corny to some but all the kids really enjoyed it. The parents thought it was wonderful to hear all those young voices singing together. I wonder if others heard of this from their parents or grand parents
