I'm back!! I did a little poking around and found an obituary for Marion Olsen Kane Elston (she divorced Mr. Kane and latter married Mr. Elston).
There's also a website for The Marionettes.
Her children are listed as Sherrie, Kari, Lynn and Kenny. So, I guess "Candy" and "Sugar" were nicknames?
