Re: Lawton School

I remember when my younger brother had to attend Lawton because of the desegration movement. We lived across the street from Robert Lewis Stevenson, but he had to attend Lawton which was quite a hike from our house. I think some children made fun of his cub scout uniform and he quit scouts because of the issues that the other children had....the face of education has changed a great deal, but public education is the one thing that seperates the United States from other countries and we still give children a good start on their lives. Unfortunately, society and parents are sometimes in the forefront of what educators have to do.
