I attended Lawton 1954-61, and held a 50th reunion in 2011! My teachers were, in chronological order,
Mrs. Buttle, Mrs. Grant, Mrs. McCloud, Mrs. Rogers, Mrs. Tornberg, Miss Casey, Miss Vlahos, and Mr. Healy. There was an assistant principal named Miss Cannarozi. Fudgesickles were sold at 6 cents each.
I recall watching, while in Kindergarten, the HUGE 5th and 6th grade girls playing kickball...such athleticism and strength compared to us tiny 5-year olds!

Some Catholic kids used to get out of school early to attend Catechism. I didn't know what Catechism was, only that those lucky kids got excused from school early!

We enjoyed fierce competition in hop-scotch, handball,and kickball.
