Re: Lawton School

I was at Lawton also at the same time, even in the schoolyard when JFK was assassinated. Monday was my favorite day to eat in the Cafeteria. Those were the best hot dogs. After lunch we would run outside and get in line for the orange bars. All the teachers were great. My favorite was Mrs. Meehan. During open house she told my parents that she thought I would become an engineer. I didn't get that far but I'm always designing something in the yard or drawing plans to build something. Now I'm a fish biologist. I loved the folk dancing we did too. I also was a traffic boy and marched at the Polo Fields.
