Yes, Tim!!!
My Mom also went to a book signing when Mr. Caen was promoting "One Man's San Francisco," to buy a copy and get it signed, so she could send it to me.
She mentioned to him that she sent his columns to her daughter who was living in Canada. She was astounded when he immediately knew who she was talking about - and joked that I was his Fan Club of One in Canada!
As a result, the book contains a very personalized, autographed note..."To Jo Anne, In Saskatoon. Come home soon!"
Love it!!!!
P.S. I know a cited book title should not be in quotes, but rather, underlined. But I can't do that here...hope my English teachers will forgive me. :)
