I delivered the News-Call back when they merged with The Examiner and became the afternoon Examiner News Call Bulletin with the combined Chronicle Examiner Sunday paper. (That paper weighed a TON back then.)

I did find out that The News-Call Bulletin does have some photos online at the California Digital Library with records from The Bancroft Library - but it's quite limited.

Next trek to the city I may do a look-up - now that I know the date - but I'll wager the Examiner article is the only one out there.
