Angus’ flashback about USS Sutro Tower got me thinking: Now that marijuana is legal (and who would have ever thought) and your grandchildren are on every social media site save here, back in the daze of illegal smiles, where did you and your friends go in the Western Neighborhoods to fire up a doobie?

Given the paranoidal factor of ever getting busted, I think the most clandestine rendezvous for me was firing up under the faux landscape of Sutro Hill across from Kelly’s Cove. Seemed cool and safe at the time, followed by a munchie-seeking food odyssey than went from piroshki in the Haight to the Ol’ Spaghetti Factory in North Beach.

Cheers,
jb
