Gracie Allen (of "Burns & Allen" fame) attended Star of the Sea Academy, and continued to donate money to the school long after she graduated.
Re: Johnny Mathis. I remember hearing that his brother, Mike, was a Toll Taker at the GG Bridge for awhile. Some of my high school chums would spend part of their Saturdays driving from SF to Marin and back again, hoping to find him on duty!
Whether he actually worked as a Toll Taker or not...I have no idea!!!
