Dave L. Balboa High School Buccaneers can lay claim to many notable graduates and accomplishments but they can't claim Johnny Mathis. He graduated from George Washington High School in 1954. While at George Washington, Mathis served as student body treasurer and was a member of the basketball and track teams. His senior yearbook states, “When the name Johnny Mathis is mentioned the hearts of Washingtonians open up to a boy with a magic voice that was loved by everyone.” https://www.classmates.com/blog/celebrity/johnny-mathis-2/
