Summer Solstice & Fog at Outside Lands

I have kept track of this year after year and it seems that immediately after the summer solstice the weather changes drastically as it did this year to a summer fog pattern.
Always before the summer solstice, the pattern is heavy winds blowing the fog out. I wonder how the days getting shorter immediately changes the weather here.
Today it was so cold, it was like a winter day. What a lousy summer we have around here.
