If you lived anywhere to the south of the park, someone in your group had the cop card. Generally if you played it, you were told that in the future you should take your misbehaviors over to the Richmond District. The only time it would not work was if you were pulled over by Officer Markey. Nothing ever got you out of a ticket when you were caught under Markey's watch. Especially, when the fellow sitting in the passenger's seat (who is now living comfortably in Marin) told him he wanted a hamburger and a coke when Officer Markey opened up his ticket book. (Now in being honest... Markey was trying to keep us wild riders alive. It was said that he lost someone dear to the family from an accident.)
