MY CONTRIBUTION WILL BE GROWING UP IN THE SUNSET DISTRICT OF SAN FRANCISCO IN THE 1950'S. MY FAMILY LIVED A FEW BLOCKS AWAY FROM FLEISHACKER POOL. I TOOK RED CROSS SWIMMING LESSONS IN 1957 @ AGE 7. AGE 8 I MEET JACK O'NEILL AT HIS SURFSHOP. THEREAFTER, HE TAUGHT ME AND OTHER LOCAL SURF DOGS HOW TO DIVE OFF THE HIGH DIVING PLATFORM AT FLEISHACKER POOL. HE ALSO TAUGHT ME TO BELIEVE IN MYSELF. BODY SURFING AT OCEAN BEACH EVOLVED INTO BOARD SURFING AND BECOMING A LIFETIME WATERMAN. JAMES MARK NEWCOMER LAYTON.
