Once upon a time, I was too young to drink and the bulk of any Inner or Outer Sunset imbibing was from a brown paper bag. However, stuck in my mind is a place on Irving at 19th that we hit for martinis before dining at Ernie’s fish joint. Seems there was always a wait and by the time we’d be seated, “pickled” fish was all that was left on the menu . Maybe the bar was part of Ernie’s or owned by them but it seems it was an entity separate from the restaurant.

Anyone of yooz know what the hell I’m talking about here?
