Growing up in the Sunset in the 50's I liked going to our local polling place with my parents. When there I could "vote" on a small child's voting machine for various cartoon characters.
This machine was a miniature copy of the machine adults voted on minus the drape that was pulled on the adult version. The children's version was on the ground.
