I can remember listening to the Arthur Godfrey Show while I was doing my homework right after school. It seemed to make the homework a little less tedious. As I recall, the good Mr. Godfrey was a bit opinionated and occasionally abrasive. One of the more dramatic moments was his on the air firing of Julius La Rosa. Then there was Gunsmoke with William Conrad. And does anyone remember "The F.B.I. in Peace and War" ? I think they had the Lava soap commercial where they repeated L-A-V-A in the most ominous tones.
