Congratulations to St. Anne's School

Congratulations to St. Anne's School at 14th & Irving on their seismic retrofit project that was completed and dedicated yesterday. Private schools were NOT covered by the Field Act (a long-standing state law requiring earthquake safety in PUBLIC schools). However, a new San Francisco ordinance passed in 2014 requires all private schools to conduct evaluations of their buildings (housing more than 24,000 students during each school day). Many of these schools now have retrofit construction in progress, but St. Anne's, operating in the Sunset since 1920, was the first to complete the work. Read more at:
