My father in law worked in the Park in the late 30's early 40's and tells me that the area around what is now Beach Chalet has always been notorious for lurking men..doing whatever it is they do in the bushes there. He said that even as a kid growing up in the Haight, he knew never to go to the beach and hang out in the trees alone.
