During the 1960s, Willie Mays lived in Forest Hill at 54 Mendosa Avenue. It was a modern style home with large plate glass windows which must have afforded him a great view of the top of the Golden Gate Bridge towers.

One of the message boarders mentioned that Willie Mays' lawyer was Terry Francois. I recall that Mr.Francois lived on Taraval Street. His home was directly across the street from West Portal Elementary in the 1960s. I believe his children attended West Portal and what I remember was that they were the only African American children in the school. My how times have changed!
