We never had ice cream trucks in Monterey Heights, but we had the Colonial Bread truck with great do-nuts. As a kid i never understood why you could have one and not the other. Cross the City line going south and there were ice cream trucks. When I was very young I vaguely recall the vegetable truck. As a kid in the 50s I did not cry a tear when that disappeared.
