Thank you for filling in the blanks, Josie!
I grew up on Sylvan Drive and when my Mother ( who did not drive a car) needed something from Lucky Market, she would walk down the middle of Ocean Avenue with her bandana on her head to keep the fog from ruining her hair!, and get what she needed and walk back home.
GET membership cards were as you stated, and I “donated” the one I had (from Mom) to WNP. We have home movies of me ( 1952) looking into the windows of the businesses across the plaza from GET.
My best memory is to keep it intact and not go back there again ( as I was so disappointed to see the Big E gone in Stonestown years ago.)
