Speaking of horns, Patrick, what about having a "heat on" and "gasolino?" I recall both of these vocabulary words from the rare days my dad would help me with my homework but he may have brought them West from Jersey when he moved here in 36.

Thanks to Ken publishing the City Directory, I saw where he was living in the Mission with many others from the shores of Erin. I guess he figured if he lived on "Church" he could skip it on Sundays.

Funny you mentioned Mally's. I was by there last week then I was visiting the Colma family and had some time to kill before dinner. Tasty Irish coffee and more spirits across the bar than behind it. If any place is haunted, its gotta be Malloys.
