The photo of Sunset Village, 46th & Judah, struck a memory nerve. Had my hair cut at the barber shop, just visible on the left. In those days (40's) barbers didn't necessarily have electric clippers. Spring loaded, hand squeezed were the order of the day, and customers, especially squirming kids like me, would suffer the catching and pulling of hairs on the back of the head and neck. To no satisfaction of the perennially grumpy barber.

Must have been hell on his hands: squeeze, squeeze, clip, clip all day long. Talk about Carpal Tunnel syndrome!!
