Today I spoke with a retired lawyer in his late 80s whose parents also grew up in San Francisco. He said that he thinks that many years ago some of the streets out here went by different names.

He thinks that before the Great Highway was built, the road to the Cliff House from Fulton Street was called Ocean Boulevard. And that there were a number of streets out there that were named just by letters of the Alphabet.

I wonder how those streets got renamed. I suppose when they built the Great Highway, Ocean Boulevard was dropped and when they rebuilt the streets, they gave them their current names.
