I was a member of the 1960 Powergliders which went to Hawaii in Jan. 1961 and played before the Hula Bowl. My brother Ken was also on the team. My memory tells me we lost to the Hawaiians (Kaimuki Bulldogs) but my brother tells me we won.
We played pop warner two years prior for a catholic school in Marin Co. so we had some advantage during the tryouts and we both were starters on the team. Bob Hassing, our coach, was a wonderful guy and years later after college I would have lunch with him in S.F. as we reminisced the old day.
