Thanks for the nice words, everyone. I did NOT expect to be featured so prominently in Carl's story.

I got the bug for these old fortifications back in 1957 when my parents took me on a tour of Fort Point in the Presidio. Been a "bunker nerd" ever since.

I invite everyone to come out to Fort Cronkhite and see what we're up to at Battery Townsley. It's a lovely walk from Rodeo Beach up to the battery, with stunning views of the Marin Headlands, the Golden Gate, and the City beyond.

We're open the first Sunday afternoon of every month. We'll keep the lights on for ya!
