When my wife's grandmother passed away me an some of the male cousins were tasked with cleaning out the basement of the original homestead (4 Plex) on Lombard Street. The 1500 gallon redwood fermentation tank discovered in a 'Sub-Basement' was dismantled stave by stave and transported to Woodside for future use, along with about 20 Christian Brothers' brandy barrels.

Evidently Papa took advantage of the medicinal wine loop hole to keep his friends and neighbors healthy during prohibition.
