In re-checking ancestor histories, I note that my maternal Uncle Dan Hennessy was listed as a "liquor dealer" in the 1910 and 1920 Census. By the time the 1930 Census rolled around, he was employed as the Manager of Union Music (the original store), and remained there until he retired. Guess he had no choice about changing careers, as my Grandma Hennessy would have been appalled if he had become a bootlegger!
