Thanks Dale. I’ve seen the film a dozen times; yet, never read the book. In the ‘50s, my grand parents owned both the Pickwick Hotel and The (Provident) Remedial Loan which still is owned by my sister.

Herb Cean used to park in the Pickwick Hotel garage till he accosted my grandmother for taking “his” spot. She pulled rank and told him be could pay to park there so he found another garage. After that, she’d never read his column.
