My Mom and Dad referred to it as The Haight. I think "Haight-Ashbury" always pointed to a few specific streets (a la the 60s) - not the entire neighborhood.

For the time being, I cannot vote as a paid member. (Got laid off of work...no discretionary income right now.) So, I will not get "strong" on one side or the other until I financially reinstate myself.
