I also remember the stables on 48th. I think the last operator or owner was Phil Rodman, who later moved with his family to Galt, where I finally bought a horse from him. I seem to recall that the stalls were two stories high surrounding a paved yard. I don't remember any corrals. Didn't the horses get ridden down the street into the park? I think they closed when horses were elminated from the city. There was also a small private stable behind a garage somewhere on Great Highway towards the zoo. Does anybody have more info on these stables?
