I remember going to the Surf Theater in the '50's. I lived on 46th and Lawton at the time. "The Incredible Shrinking Man", "No Down Payment", and "The Ten Commandments" were a few of the flicks I recall seeing there. The cafe/bar next to it was rumored to be a lesbian bar.

Years later, I went there to see New Wave Cinema.
