Recently on Google, I came up with this information: There were 16,112,566 Americans who were members of the armed forces during World War II. There were 291,557 battle deaths, 113,842 other deaths in service (non-theater), and 671,846 non-mortal woundings. As of now there are approximately 2,068,000 American veterans of that war still alive. That means that there are only 8 percent still alive.

Approximately 850 American veterans of that war die every day. The median age of these veterans is 86.

Many of these veterans living and dead were from Outsidelands. Let us pause and give a silent prayer for them this Memorial Day Weekend.
