Though this also has nothing to do with quotes, I had a similar thrill back in the 60s, when I was walking down Powell St. Approaching from the opposite direction was Rudolph Nureyev..he was in town with Margot Fonteyn to perform in the ballet. I stood there, like an idiot, with my jaw just about touching the sidewalk, while he passed by. Then, I immediately located a public telephone to call my best friend and tell her all about it.
I've also been wracking my brain to remember the title of a movie set in SF...one of the scary scenes involved a main character launching another character, who was wheelchair-bound, down a very, very steep SF street. Then again, I could just be imagining a movie that never existed...old age has a way of doing that to you...
