The previous thread about Portals of the Past being mentioned in "Vertigo" got me to thinking about movie quotes about San Francisco. Here's one of my favorites:

"San Francisco's changed. The things that spell San Francisco to me are disappearing fast. Like all these. [Motioning to framed historic photos on wall.] I should have liked to have lived here then. Color, excitement, power. Freedom."

--Gavin Elster mourning the passing of old SF. "Vertigo," 1958
