Ken,
I polished my cue at the Westlake Bowl and played for lunch money from 64-68. Was I good? Considering I was 6'2" and weighed 140 lbs when I graduated, mediocre at best. Now pocket pool was a different story :-)
The best thing about the Westlake Bowl were the frech fries; for 30 cents they filled a lunch bag so you had to go in halves with a partner to eat them all. And the owner, Johnny Swanson, was perhaps the most generous golfer at the Olympic Club and always treated the caddies with dignity and respect.
Well, time to go practice the left ball in the right pocket shot. May require a masse.
Your break,
jb
