Not being Irish, I do not have too many memories except for the custom of wearing something green.
The only thing I remember very well was marching with my school band in the parade downtown, which I did five times. This was the highlight of the year for a marching band and we would learn three or four traditional Irish tunes for the purpose. We would march west from the financial district up one of the streets, then turn left to pass by a reviewing stand in front of City Hall.
