Frank, you wrote earlier about Chronicle columnsts including Steve Rubenstein and of "There was even a business columnist, whose name escapes me right now, who wrote a weekly column, explaining current economic conditions via anecdotal stories told over lunch by his fictional middle-aged friends George and Adele, who lived in a rented Marina flat with their standard poodle."

Last evening on KALW on 'Minds over Matter' one of the panelists was Steve Rubenstein. He asked a series of Chronicle related questions. One of the questions was a 'who were' series of names including George and Adele. It was the business editor Donald White who died in May of 1999, ten years after his retirement. His brother Warren White was one of the deans at our Harvard on the Hill.
