One of the best issues of the Richmond Banner I've read so far is that of Dec 5, 1930. Sinclair Trimble's front page column is full of optimism and hope for the future in spite of the stock market that "broke" the previous year. Spend a few minutes reading it.
The drive of the Geary Street Merchants Ass'n to light up forty blocks of stores with Christmas lights was inspiring. And the listing of the participating businesses and residences is a treasure. There have been previous messages of remembered stores, hang-outs, business and even coal companies of our pasts. And here is a moment to savor in a time before our own.
