This morning's Chronicle ran a story about Glen Park and Glen Canyon. It mentions Silver Tree Camp. For those of us who grew up in the Outer Sunset (and other City neighborhoods, I'm sure), spending a week in day camp was one of the highlights of a foggy summer. A bus would pick us up at Frances Scott Key in the morning and transport us to the Camp. This was in the late 40's for me. We would explore the "mountains and canyons" and named one location Bubble Gum Rock because of the pinkish color of the rock formation. The bus would pick us up in the afternoon and deliver us back to Frances Scott Key school. Did anyone else attend this day camp?
