Years ago Howard Pease who lived in SF wrote almost two dozen adventure and mystery books for teen boys. Some stories such as Long Wharf, Thunderbolt House, Foghorns, and Mystery on Telegraph Hill focus on the city. The series about the seafaring adventures of young Tod Moran usually began at the Embarcadero, and capture the essence of maritime life in SF in the 20’s and 30’s. The author himself had been a seaman. Many wonderful hours were spent with these books.
