I remember the place but didn't frequent it so the name escapes me.

I do recall that, in the early '50's, on the NE corner of (31st.?) and Judah where the pet supply store is now, there was a restaurant. I think it was unusual to have a decent restaurant there as most of the better places were downtown.

My recollection is that you had to go downtown for a good quality dinner, to buy furniture, good clothes, and the like.

The exceptions were the Mission, which was something of a town unto itself and the furniture store on Taraval at about 24th. I remember seeing it in the early '50's and thinking it a strange place for a furniture store.
