I remember Ruth at the counter and the fantastic streusel cakes they sold there. Loved their meringue kisses, too.
I remember being able to sit on a stool at the soda fountain’s marble bar and order a chocolate malt. They were so thick you could hold the metal mixer cup upside down and it would stay put. I went there in the 1967 to 1972. Malts were 50 cents.
MacGraw’s Drug’s was a favorite place to get makeup (Yardley Slicker) and candy violet tablets.
My grandmother lived at 159 Santa Barbara at the time.
