San Francisco: Then and Now WNP Event

Jul 6, 2023 6:00pm-7:30pm (Thursday)

In this virtual presentation hosted by Western Neighborhoods Project (WNP), author and historian John Martini demonstrates how he uses re-photography of historic images to research such iconic Bay Area sites as Alcatraz Island, Fort Point and Sutro Baths. The show includes dozens of comparison photographs of San Francisco during the 19th century and the same views today, illustrating the dramatic evolution of the city from a wind-blown frontier village to today’s metropolis.

Please register using Eventbrite. This one-hour Zoom program is online only and will include time for Q&A. The program is free with a suggested donation of $10; donations are split evenly between WNP and John Martini. Please RSVP to receive the super-secret Zoom link.
